Goal of the Position:
To pick up donated food from partner businesses such as grocery stores on weekday mornings or afternoons.
Position Responsibilities:
- Receive donations from retailers and deliver them back to the food bank.
- Be a good ambassador for the Cambridge Food Bank
Working Conditions:
- This position requires driving sitting and lifting in all weather conditions
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid G license with a clean drivers abstract
- Comfortable driving a cargo van
Other Requirements:
- Volunteers must sign a confidentiality agreement
- Closed toed shoes are required
- Follow dress code as outlined by the Volunteer Manager
Training & Supervision:
- Meet with the Volunteer Manager to review the position requirements
- Have a trial run with a staff or another volunteer
- Engage in a tour of the Cambridge Food Bank to gain knowledge and understanding about the programs, mission, and vision of CFB
- Training and supervision will be ongoing and provided by the Food Procurement and Logistics Manager in collaboration with the Volunteer Manager
