Goal of the Position:
To sort all incoming produce and distribute it to agency programs following CFB’s food rescue guidelines.
Position Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming produce; sort and organize it based on quality and freshness to internal food bank programs
Working Conditions:
- This position requires standing and some lifting
Qualifications:
- Ability to follow directions on sorting produce based on quality, making judgments about which program the produce should be directed to
- Produce will be directed to Community Pantry, Flash Food, Food Rescue, Pig Farmer, and compost as determined by its quality and freshness
Other Requirements:
- Closed-toed shoes are required
Training & Supervision:
- Engage in a tour of the Cambridge Food Bank to gain knowledge and understanding about the programs, mission, and vision of CFB
- Training and supervision will be ongoing and provided by the Food Procurement Manager in collaboration with the Volunteer Coordinator
